I went to the sprint downloads and it is not in the download file yet. I hope to get the prompt. I don't mind running stock a few days cause I can go back to whatever I want but I am curious if it fixes. I rarely get data locks and DI18 I have only had one and that was the first time I installed and was installing all my apps from the market. Nothing since which is better than before. Also my battery life seems much improved as well. Not sure if I want to work on a theme next or simply wait to see the DJ07 theme template first.

2:04 - decided to update the phone via the OTA message
2:04 - screen goes to what looks like an android jumping out of a cigarette box "you'll laugh when you see what I mean", also a loading bar at the bottom

Phone reboots

2:08 - phone starts like it normally would. don't physically see any differences. guess i'll just have to see if it keeps data locking or not. usually don't get but 1 every other day.

(edit) didn't have to backup any data. everything looks just as it did before the upload.

Whoa! I didn't realize I was picking at a scab. FYI, Sarcasm is never out off the way for me.

i usually dont mind sarcastic remarks on forums but that huge red font just irked me to hell. im just frustrated that sprint and samsung cant fix this phone properly. i admit i was a bit premature after only one person said it didnt work.

update: haha looks like this new update doesnt even address the data lock up issue. just allow you to call 911 when going through a data lock up. is there ever going to be a fix?

I feel your pain. If I didn't get a great deal on a Evo, I'd still be champing at the bit for a lockup fix. I'm still hopeful that a fix is coming. It's very positive sign that they're still releasing updates for the phone well after EOL.

BTW, it's never my intention to irk anyone (well, almost never).

I guess this is (hopefully) just a quick patch to keep the screen lock from disappearing, which I've also had happen numerous times since DI06. Haven't seen DJ07 yet, and an attempt to manually update came up with nothing yet (but a PRL update was just pushed to me a few minuted ago).

So in this case, "enhancement" must mean, "fixing something we broke in the last update."

Tried the wifi this morning. Still has the data lockup. It did dial out, the phone I called rang. The moment would not let me hang up. It did nothing for the data lock up. I still had to reboot the phone.

I got the update message last night, went ahead and let them do it (the screen lock has been driving me up a wall). So far so good. haven't had any problems with data lockup, wifi is scanning and connecting better than before, and after some long phone calls (when the screen lock usually disappears for me), no issues with that. Seems to be working well. Will update if I get any problems.

Ok. I flashed back to stock DI06 and then I got the update prompt for DJ07 and installed it.
Turned wi-fi on for 20 minutes and turned it off .. As of 2 hours now No data luck up yet.
I used to have one within 15 min after using wi-fi..

Is this update only supposed to change the build number and not both the build number and baseband version like the DI06 update did? I updated and noticed it only changed the build number to DJ07 so I was just curious.

13 hours and used wi-fi several times and still no lock up..
The only thing I hate is being stock and not root

the update only supposed to fix 911 call restrictions during a data lockup and issues with the proximity sensor and lock screen. it did not mention anything about fixing data lockup. for me the easy way get a data lockup was to connect to a wifi network then disable it, then run speedtest or pandora or anything heavy data related.

Well this makes me wanna go back to stock and not root until Radioactive Froyo v2 is stable.

I just updated yesterday with the upgrade prompt but I am rooted and it ofcourse wouldn't update but stopped the popups. Which is what I wanted to do. If this new update is working good I might just wipe the phone and do this update and forget about root for a bit.
Thanks for your input!
