3000 mAh for $50 or 4000 mAh for $93... Are the few extra mAh worth all the extra money?

Personally, I wouldn't get either one. I get reasonable battery life out of my Spectrum, though. But if you ARE going to get an extended battery, go with the Verizon one and get the shell/holster combo too. It will still probably come out to a bit less than the Mugen battery.

Does the Verizon one include a kick-stand? I thought that was a nice touch.

$100 is simply too much. Way too much. I'd rather just have a few spare 1900s for $25.

I'll check back in a couple of months when they are $29.99.

Yeah, I fell for pre ordering the extended when I pre ordered the HTC Evo... Then they were available for 1/3 the price less than hour months later

Wow that's impressive with the kickstand. Looks fairly high quality from the pics. Hopefully it drops to a more reasonable price soon enough. In the meantime I'll just use my spectrum on 3G. 4g is great to have as a backup if 3G is unavailable or too congested. Those 700 MHz waves seem to travel everywhere.

I'll pick one up when it drops to a reasonable price. I'd hate to give up my ballistic case, and I doubt there will be any cases made to fit the extended back, but I'd like to try one still.

^ But doesn't the Verizon one have that odd square hump on the back?

I already have a battery, I just need an extended back. Wonder if they'd sell that by itself?

I've never seen anything of note for the Spectrum on Verizon's website. Right now they have nothing but a standard battery and back. Where did you see an extended back with kickstand?

The hump on the Verizon extended battery + cover is hideous. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable that feels in the hand.

Actually it's not bad, and for 26 bucks i'm not going to complain. Especially when I got the phone on a bogo deal lol.

    100 recharges? You're kidding, right?

I was using an HTC DROID Incredible as my daily driver for almost two years. I charged it almost every day and it's still going strong. That's well over 650 charges. And I have never seen any noticeable degradation of battery life.

Sounds to me like Mugen is using the best case scenario for their battery, while using the worst case scenario for other batteries. That is, of course, if they aren't lying outright...

I am pretty sure my HTC Evo battery was rated for 1k charges, 100 does not sound correct

1000 sounds correct (roughly once per day or so for three years). 100 would be insanely bad.

You're still charging your phone at least 300 times in that first year.

And it sounds like you have bad luck with batteries...

If you count partial charges, leaving the phone plugged in for hours after fully charged, and connecting to your pc for data transfer, i would guess most people charge 500-750 time per year.

Does anyone know if there are any jelly covers for the Spectrum that fit with the Mugen battery back?
