Accessories Mugen bringing out larger capacity battery.

Thought I'd start a new thread with this as otherwise it'd get buried in the general 'how long does my battery last' threads. Over at xda ... Mugen Battery - xda-developers ... there's a thrad that mentions a new battery, soon, with an extra 200/300mAh. If nothing else it'd be worth getting it as a spare.

I'd snap one up in a heartbeat. It would also be handy to have a charger that charges a battery out side of your phone. Eg have a dock with a spare battery at work. I love my DHD and it can get me through a full day but having 2 batteries on the go would allow me to use the phone to its full potential. I'm constantly not opening apps i want to because i'm scared i'll use up too much battery life.

already bookmarked it! when it's out i'll buy.
I'm testing out a 1500mah battery now, and it's giving me maybe an hour extra tops...
so lets see

i certainly do hope not! tho, i remember seeing the one for the legend and it fits in there fine. so hoping the theory is the same for the DHD...but looking forward to the update kungura :)

As far as I know it's the same size as the standard one. Doubt if you could fit a larger battery in the DHD anyway!

I really hate taking the cover off my Desire HD. And really don't want to keep doing that everytime i want to change the battery. I was scared the cover might snap when i was replacing my sim in the first time. Haven't opened it ever again after that. But if this battery improves a great deal. I'll most definitely buy!

Interesting. Ill be watching to see how the new batteries perform when they are released. You would think with bigger handset you would have had a bigger better. Coupled with lower power usage v the Desire, it could make this phone super attractive!

Bummer, i went to pre-order with a deluxe desktop charger but they don't ship to Australia :( 1800mah would be fantastic! even if it does cost 40 pounds.

in no hurry though at moment, mainly as i still dont havemy damm phone yet...

I'll wait for it to be benchmarked first, some of the claims these battery manufacturers make amount to little more that bare faced lies. I'd be surprised if it tests to anymore than 1500mah.

tshirttan - yes, if you're talking cheap Chinese eBay battery, or worse still it could explode (exploding Nokia's anyone?). However, this is a decent company therefore I'd say there's no greater risk to yourself or the device at all.

where did you hear that? please quote your source. because i got an email from them directly stating that they were going to bring out the high capacity battery for the DHD in early Dec (just a week ago)
