Buy Mugen Power Sprint (CDMA) HTC HERO 200 1800mAh Extended Replacement Battery [HLI-HERO200SL]

I ordered the Mugen Power 1800mAh battery for Sprint Hero a couple of weeks ago and it arrived from Hong Kong over the weekend. I'm not that familiar with Mugen Power but supposedly they are reputable and have good quality. The outside of the battery was covered in some sort of thin film/labeling that made it a snug fit, but it otherwise installed okay in the Hero. Got the original cover back on and if its any heavier I can't tell. I left it on the charger for 12 hours initially as instructed, and have fully discharged and recharged it a second time. I will do 2 or 3 more cycles like this to condition the battery.

Now for performance, what I can tell so far. It definitely takes longer off a fresh charge to see even a dent in the battery charge indicator, whereas on the stock battery the meter drops below a full green icon pretty quick. I really feel like the 20% extra capacity is really there, as I was trying to come up with ways to suck the juice out of this thing so I could stick it back on the charge last night. Ended up leaving Sprint TV going for an hour and then read some ebooks. Left it sitting all night and it was red-lining but still holding a small charge this morning. On the old battery it would have died some time overnight (if not before due to all the network use for TV).

Just to be clear I never had severe battery drain issues with the Hero before, even before the update with the messaging fix. It lasts me a whole day without issue but I have to put it on the charge every night. I think I'll still have to charge it every night, or at least the next morning, but the added capacity just gives me a little extra boost and more peace of mind if I need to make extra use of my phone's capabilities.

I received my Mugen battery on Friday and I pretty much concur with everything the OP said. Great build quality, it fit perfectly, and to me if feels like my Hero has a bit more heft to it with this battery. It's not heavy by any means but it has that quality, more solid build feel to it. Battery life has definitely improved but I never had any of the battery issues that others have reported but I always made the effort to recharge every nite. Now I don't feel the need to.

Well worth the money and if you order one you need to be a little patient with the delivery, it takes a few weeks to arrive from Hong Kong.

I have one too. Worth the money. I paid $32 for mine and that's a pretty good price for a large capacity battery. I'm happy.

Thanks for the review. I was going to order one but it says they are out of stock. They do have an 1800mAh battery for the sprint touch pro 2. That one should work just as good right?

Hi. I've seen that there are different 3rd party batteries for the Sprint Hero. I know Mugen has one that is 3200 mah but requires the new cover which increases phone size. I also saw the 1800mah battery which uses the default cover. Has anyone bought the 1800 battery and if you have can you post a review or tell us how it compares to the standard battery? THanks!!

My two batteries came Wed. They say first charge for 12 hours in device. Then use until very low then recharge. Repeat this process for 4-5 more times. Never drain battery completely. What everyone wants to know is it working better than the stock battery. Most definitely YES!!!! I've been up and out since 5AM and its 10Pm and I'm @ 58%. I have called, text, used several apps. It was a Saturday I played with my phone all day long.I have a lot of power draining stuff going on, a background changer set to change my background every hour, bar control, lockbot pro, wave secure and htc weather widget.

That is the HTC Battery Widget. Not sure why they didn't originally release it with the phone honestly.

I can say that thru no specific mesuring and just real world use(texting, phone calls and internet) this battery does have a noticiable edge over stock battery. For the first time since I got my Hero, I have had days where I did not have to charge the battery every day. Yes the battery was at 56%-42%, and still with that I was still able to use it for quite a while. Over all I would recommend getting this battery, you will notice the difference.

I just got my Mugen 1800mAh battery yesterday, and I can say so far I'm not impressed. I did the 12 hour charge last night and took it off the charger at 7:30am this morning. With just a 2 min phone call and 20 minutes of Pandora on the way to work, I'm already down to 82% at 9:22am. I'll def wait until I've done the additional 4-5 full charges before I give my full thoughts, but it's not looking good so far. I never did a 12 charge out of the box with the original battery, and it never performed this poorly. Anyone else found this yet with their Mugen battery? It may be possible that I have a bad battery. However if I do, I certainly hope it does not cost me any more money to send it back to Hong Kong to get a replacement.

UPDATE: In the last almost hour and half, it's only gone down 1% to 81%. So maybe it really is just learning.
