I wasn't sure where to post this, hope this forum works.

I have been using an ATT gophone prepaid phone (one of those generic Nokia dumbphones) for a few years now, and I decided to upgrade recently to a G2 that I found on eBay at a decent price. The phone works fine with the ATT SIM, but I found out the hard way I can't send or receive multimedia messages without a data plan, which was one of the main reasons for upgrading to a smartphone (the Nokia didn't have a camera). I can't afford/justify spending more than the $15-20 I spend monthly for the gophone plan, so data is out of the question. What I don't understand, is how I could send and receive multimedia messages on the Nokia but I can't on the G2 even though they are both on the same carrier and plan. Is there a way around it? Obviously sending messages from the Nokia worked, so I assume those messages went through the cell network, so is there any way to force the phone to send them the same way?
