I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're asking. Can you explain it more?

No. Not too sure of any phone that does.

Rooted Nexus Ones can rotate every which way (yes Virginia, you can use your phone upside down). A Froyo'd N1 can rotate two ways.

Presumably a Desire can do the same.

If you are asking if you can have the display showing the right way in each of the four directions, on a standard HTC Desire you cannot. You can only have it displayed portrait with the buttons at the bottom and landscape with the buttons on the right.

Sorry for the confusion. I mean rotate the display by using two fingers, say when viewing a map. I'm not that familiar with iPhones, but I seem to be able to do this on my daughter's iPod Touch.

That's not rotation. That's pinch to zoom.

Well, not quite. I think he means you put two fingers on the screen and 'twist' them to rotate... there was an app on the iPoo that would let you do it to pictures which was fun. Don't think Android has anything yet.

Is this coming with froyo? You can do it already with google earth anyway.

I think you should make the distinction that this is an app feature, not a phone or ipod feature.

I know we have pinch to zoom. But the iPod Touch I have here has a rotate function too.
