The new Google Music app (version 3.x) for Android starts up on phone boot, runs in the background all the time, and can't be disabled by itself. On top of that, if I uninstall the update, I get the Update prompt every time my phone syncs with the market, and that can't be disabled. I have the original (OG) Droid, and it does not run well with a lot of background applications because it is a lower-memory device with a lower-frequency processor. Is there some way to disable market notifications on certain apps? Because I can't uninstall the native Music app, I will always get new prompts. I realize there are apps that let me kill the app or prevent it from starting up on boot, but there are certain times I use the Music app and I don't like version 3's interface.
