Help Music Player Issues - Play songs in alphabetical order? Play all songs by artist?

Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).

if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.

Any ideas? I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.

Am I missing a setting or ??

Have you tried using the search button? I don't know how it orders the songs i don't have many songs on my x.

Well after trying several different players I finally picked "bplayer". It's designed to look and operate just like the apple iphone/ipod player so it's real intuitive for me coming from the Iphone. Works great on my X!

It seems to load songs in the order you moved them to the SD card.

What did you use to transfer itunes music to your X ?? And did itunes ringtones transfer too??

Am I missing something also. Songs seem to play in either alphabetical or some odd order rather than in track number order. How do I make them play by tracks rather than alphabetical. I thought this was only a problem on dumbphones like my old dare.

I was very annoyed by the whole playing in alphabetical order thing. I got mixzing player from the market so now i dont have that problem.

Not sure if this is exactly what you are all talking about, but it might be helpful to someone popping in here and it was driving me crazy and I spent a lot of time on it the other day.

I was copying over an album using Windows Media Player sync.

If I had the USB connection settings to Windows Media Sync (I forget the exact option name), my songs would show up in bTunes sorted alphabetically.

When I had the USB connection settings to just straight SD card mode, the songs would show up in the album sorted by track number.

No idea why that would matter. Very weird.
