    Please Help!!!

I am having an issue with the music player that comes pre-installed on the HTC Evo.

It would seem simple that you just plug in the phone to your computer, mount as a hard drive, and drag and drop music files to the MUSIC file on the phone.

I thought it would be a good idea to dump all of the music from my computer onto my phone as a backup.... But most of the Audio is not recognized by the player.

"Unable to Play this type of Audio File" is displayed over a blank Album art cover....(just a music note).

I cant make sense of what kind of audio this thing wants. I first thought it was the M4A OR Mpeg4, then possibly the WMA.... but some of the music plays.... and some doesn't.

    This thing doesnt make sense.

I even tried double twist and it didnt work either. I sinc'ed my music file and after an hour.... it said that there was a problem with my memory card.

However... when I drag and drop music.... some files work and some dont.

This thing is driving me crazy.

It uses mp3. Works fine for me...Use a free converter to convert any files to MP3 & it should work!

This is what happens when you pirate music from crappy sources! Convert the stuff to mp3's and fix the tags and it'll be fine!

The android music player can only play mp3's. If you have m4a files, they are likely from itunes, and have DRM on them, and thus cannot be played on an android device.
