Help Music player wont read some music folders?

Ok. I have my music arranged in folders for the different artists. But the problem is the music player will see only a some of those folders. But I can directly access the folder and play the files.

So how can I have the music player 'see' all my music?

I imagine its an issue with the music file format

Yep your probably right there. The folders containing .wav files don't show up. But the folders containing MP3's do.

Having said all that I can play the .wav files if I directly access the folder...

What folder are they in? When I had all my music in a "Notifications" folder I could only access 1/3 of my music through the music player =/ (talking ~300 songs out of 1100)

Well I set up a folder on the Galaxy's own drive called 'Music' then I had my separate artist folders there. Some MP3 and the others .wav...

But I moved them to my SD drive and still the built in player just doesn't want to know the folders containing .wav files even though I can play them if I access the folder directly via the file manager.

I think its strange that the phone's own player wont associate itself with .wav files.

i have noticed that anything in the usbstorage folder doesn't seem to want to show up for some reason.
i solved this by moving it else where

Ok.

I've moved all my music to the SD card and still the built in player will not associate itself with any folders containing .wav files.

So I'm hoping 2.3.4 will sort this problem out.

Any advances on this problem? Brand new Galaxy S2 and I cannot get some of my .wav files (guitar backing tracks) to be listed in a playlist. Workarounds are cumbersome, because if I put all the backing tracks in the same folder and try to play them, I cannot find a repeat function.

Try the new PowerAMP beta, it handles tag reading independently of the systems method for doing it (only player I'm aware of that does). Details and download link here. Let us know if it works - it fixed problems I had with how the system reads FLAC and genre tags.

I use PowerAMP and make sure my .wav files are @ 44.1Khz in 16bit format.
