Am I right in thinking that the Music Player on the Desire is HTC's own?

Is there a default Android player?

I only ask as I think the current one that is default installed on the phone is poor, very poor. I use another app to play podcasts and even with the 'hide podcasts from default player' option ticked, they still show up in the music player.

Try mixzing from the market. It lets you select your music folders. So as i keep all my music under the parent folder "Music", i select that and only get my actual music in hte player

Had a little look in to it a bit further and you can put a blank file called .nomedia in each folder you DON'T want to show up in the default music player and it doesn't show up in the Music Player
