Hi all, couple of music-related queries...

Got a Desire partly because once the 32GB comes out (on pre-order) I'll be using it as an mp3 player as well as a phone. Managed to find a good program to sync my music with it (MediaMonkey) and now the only other hurdle to this seems to be the volume levels which are too low for my liking. Will simply getting headphones with a volume control push the volume up further?

I'm planning on buying some headphones for it that'll include a mic, volume control and maybe a couple of buttons to control the music, but is there anything that has all these? I'm not keen on bluetooth devices in the slightest, so just want some super-duper in-ear headphones really. Any suggestions/pointers?

My feeling is that the volume is a firmware restriction. I think it's an EU regulation to protect hearing, or something like that!

But, I read somewhere that you can make it go louder if you root the phone, but I don't know much about that.

RE: the headphones, I did think it was really odd that the ones that come with the phone have no volume control on them... so can you buy replacements that keep the track skip buttons, but also add volume? If so, I'm getting them!

Have scoured everywhere but can't find anything that has volume control, mic and play/pause skip/answer buttons, nor an adapter that does that but lets you plug your own earphones in the top (which would be ideal, as I love my current headphones). I've found a few headphone amplifiers but really don't fancy also carrying around an extra 5x2x1cm box where I'll need to change an additional AA battery every week...

Will keep searching though, I assume the longer the phone is released the more accessories that will become available. Fingers crossed.

  4. The sound output from my desire and my headphones is equal if not higher than my ipod touch, I don't have any probs with sound
