Had to test out a few things for myself
YouTube - HTC Evo vs iPad
iPad is a tick faster. Cool to know.
But yea, the failure to reformat the text is a KILLER to me. That's one of the main reasons I returned the Pre last year. The animations and scrolling was smooth, but damn, having to move the seen around to read a simple paragraph is not what's cool in the streets.
Thanks. I am pretty surprised at how fast the Evo is over Wifi, its awesome. I also tested it on some pretty heavy flash sites like 2advanced.com and okaydave.com and it worked flawlessly. Loaded everything up rather quick too.
Yeah but don't forget it is also not loading flash content. I do know what mbell means about the iPad checker board it happens to me all the time and it's highly annoying.
Coming from the Palm Pre I can sympathize here. The only exception was that with the Pre, it happened no matter how fast you scroll.
The Evo is so easy to browse the internet on!
Stating the obvious here, but not a surprise the Evo is as fast or nearly even loading flash pages. While not officially listed, the A4 iPad chip is likely at the same speed as the Evo, while the Evo has double the ram. I would expect similar results with overall speed for tasks to toto the Evo since it has multitasking.
I still use my iPad to surf as I don't seem to find myself needing or missing flash content and the screen size for me makes it much nicer than panning and zooming around a page. Same reason I no longer used the iPhone for surfing sites. Both are great devices, and the Evo as a 4G hotspot makes a very cool set of devices.
