Mine reads 121 which is voice mail... no idea how to adjust it.

My guess is it pulls it from the SIM how to get it right on there is anyone's guess though. There is a GSM code to display your number but they don't seem to work on the N1 so it can't be from that.

Done some digging... it does read it from the SIM, mine is donkeys years old so probably explains the number being an old Vodafone voicemail one. Apparently a call to your provider will help, I suspect they'll just fire out a correctly programmed SIM.

ditto "unknown". No sure if I really need to be concerned though - doesn't seem to affect anything

My number is correctly displayed despite my SIM card being about a decade old.

"My number" is indeed stored on the SIM. Some handsets allow you to enter in your own mobile number to be stored on the SIM. You may have to ask around some of your friends or dig out that old mobile that you stuffed away in the loft.

I sorted this problem out using an iPhone - it allows you to enter whatever you like to the SIM. Returning the SIM back to the Android it now shows the number that I stored away.

    Simples ... :D
