OK so I've got 21 days and counting till I'll be at month 20 in my contract. I've read about people getting early upgrades, this price and that price, new every two prices... ect. I plan on going with the 2 yr contract. I want to lock in that unlimited 4g price. I'm happy with verizon and im sure i'll be happy with the t-bolt for the next two years. i know the new every two program is over. but just what will my price be on the phone? $249.99? some guy was saying he got his $100 discount off that from the two yr contract. sometimes i think the deals people put on here are a little fuzzy. Anyways... i can't wait to get my bolt and join in on the awesome battery life debate, jk.

I got my husband's upgrade moved up, but he did NOT get his NE2 credit. I didn't get to use one because I was using my last annual upgrade. Maybe I got gipped, though.

I called Verizon Wireless, told them I needed to disconnect service. Told them that Sprint was offering me $125 to switch to their network and they were offering me a great price on a 4G Evo. They told me they'd move up my upgrade date and would give me my discounted price (corporate discount) and would give me my NE2 credit of $30 that was due in May. If they think you're ready to jump ship, then make them keep your business. And I agree with everyone else YMMV.....OH and I paid the same $219.99 as above but got mine at the Verizon store after they fixed everything via their 800 number.

haha. nice going. When I went onto my 6th og droid they told me I could break contract and leave. I said ok, then they said "how about we give you a droid incredible on a one year contract instead"

If you are upset and having issues, they will do anything for you.

I went to the corp verizon store on t-bolt release day and talked with a sales associate. Told him i had less than a month before i was due for an upgrade and i wanted to get a t-bolt, today! He gave me the well you'd have to pay full price blah blah blah. so i gave him the talk to your manager. he did, for like 10 seconds. and said there wasn't anything they could do. so i gave him the, well sprint is sounding pretty good right now. still nothing. then, and wait for it... he said that since they got the iphone they've been real strict about early upgrades and stuff. classic! i said "stupid Steve Jobs" i guess he just didnt want to sell a phone that day.

People like you are what makes it hard to work at Verizon. When you sign a 24 month contract you are agreeing to fulfill that contract and not pretend to be leaving so you get discounted pricing early. You don't realize that you are wasting the salespersons time because when they give you your upgrade early/give extra discounts that sale no longer goes towards their commission numbers. But it won't change and the next time a cool phone comes out you and others like you will find more reasons to cry and give a sob story until you get your way again.

    .MgB - that's funny.

Your error lies in the fact that nobody is saying that they are going to do anything outside the scope of their contract, so your argument doesn't hold water. Telling the salesperson that you might go to Sprint isn't in any way wrong or immoral providing you pay your ETF or finish out your contract in the event you do leave.

Its the same as the nitwits who say that walking away from your mortage and defaulting on the loan is "wrong." Really? Cause it says in the loan contract, that the bank wrote (contract of adhesion), that you can walk away from the house if you can't pay for it.

If you are just threatening to leave Verizon with no real intent to do so and Verizon buys your story, then that is their choice. And they are making money off of you and locking you into another contract.

Don't expect people to shed a tear for multi-billion dollar Verizon...come on man.

Your kidding me right....tell VZW to stop releasing phones like the Fascinate and then take 7 months to give us Froyo and a fix for the GPS. People like you are the ones that make it hard on a person to do anything in a store. Heads up, the customer is always right, and since many of us are paying over a $100 a month for service, vzw makes a giant profit margin on us in a very short period of time, So please save us the sob story on worrying about a Verizon employees commission! Last thing I'm worried about...

Ohh, and to the op and people interested, I paid $199 with an early upgrade that was put on my account by customer care because of the fiasco with the Fascinate. It took a few phone calls, but I finally hit gold with a really cool supervisor who said the Fascinate GPS issue is something I should not have to deal with, and noted my account to be able to upgrade very very early. Then got my 20% percent discount off the price of $249...Total $217 out the door.

I work for an indirect , 100% commission, so I know EXACTLY what you mean. The problem doesn't lie soley with people trying to come in and scheme ways to get a new phone, but store managers need to grow a pair and stop giving in. I got no problem with somebody trying to get a good deal. But threatening to cancel ( with no intent to cancel at all) just to get an early upgrade is the oldest trick in the book and mgrs should know that by now.

And let me add, if you want to cheat the system and get an early upgrade when your not entitled one, call telesales and threaten to cancel. That way you get what you want and you're not taking money out of the pockets of in-store reps.

I ordered minutes after its was released, 12:08am. They must have inadvertently posted that price I assume.

I paid $375 no contract. Brand new sealed in box off craigslist. Sold my Droid X for $300, so I only had to shell out $75, and to not renew my contract so Verizon doesn't have me by the balls again = priceless :O

I paid $149.99 for my phone with new 2 year contract. When the phone was first listed online, they had it for $199.99 and I was at my upgrade point on the 17th actually for new every 2, so I got my $50 discount from that. 20 minutes later I looked on the site again and Verizon fixed the price and put it back to $249.99 like it was supposed to be.

I sat here and read this and debated about how to respond. I've read a lot of post through out these forums and it seems like one a comment like this is made it's very easy to retaliate back at the poster in a mean way. I just about came up with a smart ass reply. However, I used to be in sales and I used to get paid commission. With that being said, sometimes it was worth giving up some commission to make a sale and to gain a repeat customer. The first car stereo i bought i got a bit of a deal on. And you know what Everything else I bought for years to come I got off the same guy. We had become friends. Then I started working with him. We lost touch after he left. Years later I got in contact with him and guess what. He worked at verizon. So guess who sold me my next phone, and the one after that.
I understand what you're saying. But after being in sales before, it's not just people like me. It's everyone these days thats looking for a deal. Who wants to wait, who wants to pay full retail, why do you think Kohls is ALWAYS having a sale. PEOPLE WANT A DEAL! Sales 101 for ya. Don't hate the player, just hate the game. And yes this wasn't my smart ass reply

Yup, thats what I was expecting, but I guess that first half hour they had it listed as a wrong price. I heard they got rid of the ne2, but mine was still valid and since I activated the phone and it updated I used my ne2, it now gives me a date for ne2 again, so not sure if its a system problem or just that older customers still get the ne2.
