I dont understand it, I havent done anything new/different. I did install FB Messenger, but after noticing the lagging I uninstalled it but the problem persists.

A few things that are happening all the time ..

    1. When im texting or typing, im whacking away and all of a sudden it stops printing what im hitting, but then eventually catches up. Like the phone is freezing, or stuttering or something.

    2. Similarly, i notice the "freezing" when i pull down the dropdown notification window. Sometimes its snappy, other times it sorta freezes half way, then finishes the motion.

I think im only noticing these 2 things because its what i do most. I really dont use my phone for a lot or have many apps, and the ones i do have were there since day1, with the exception of FB messenger which is now uninstalled a few days ago.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any thoughts on resolving?

PS, im using NOVA Launcher, have been using it since day1.

Im also using SwiftKey keyboard, i uninstalled and same problem persisted with stock, so i put it back on.

have you tried anything? like a reset, or calling tech support or anything.

I am just now beginning to hit my frustration point, i was thinking of a full reset. Let me know if that helped you, or what else you've tried.

    thanks a lot !

I am in the habit of atleast 2 or 3 times a day clearing all previous apps

Samsung phones have a habit of slowing down over time. This can be easily remedied by clearing the cache of apps.

I have done a factory reset, thought the problem might have been Nova launcher. Did not install it but had the same problems, reboots, freezes, etc. Also, after each restart it kept telling me the sd card needed to be formatted. I took out the card, 32 gig, put in another 32 gig, same problems. I have taken out the SD card and haven't had any problems since. That was this morning. Don't know what I'll do about a card though. Maybe a thought?

It sounds like your card reader may be defective.

Try a card by a different company, and if that doesn't work, bring your phone to Samsung.

FYI i did a total reset, then disabled all the bloatware i could, then installed "Cache Cleaner" and set it to clear every 12hrs. Also enabled developer options and disabled animations.

Lightning fast again. Lets see how long this lasts
