Hello, today while I was in my university, my phone's battery ran out and it turned off. When I got back home, I tried to charge it but it didn't work for some reason. I tried to do it with battery and without, still nothing worked. I found some solutions that can try turn it on safe mode or recovery mode, still doesn't work. Does anyone know, if this is fixable or my phone is dead for real? Or is this just a battery issue? It worked fine yesterday, never had any problem with it before.

If the battery is very depleted then it may require several hours of charging to reset its internal safeguards.

Yeah, the phone died and it was like that for couple hours. Ill try to charge it for some time, maybe it will charge in some time. What if that doesn't work? Should I take it somewhere to proffesionals, who can fix it for me? Can't think of anything else, or should I just try to get new battery?

Your phone need a boost charge, you will get this facility in a mobile shop.

If there's no sign of life after 12hrs on charge, then the cheapest solution would be to try a new battery before taking it to a repair centre.

So-called "boost charging" is not a good idea for li-ion batteries.

It's charging for 12 hours already I think, and there's still no sign of working. Hoped it will work out somehow by itself. Don't really have any finances to fix it at the moment, will have to find a way to get a new battery to test it out first somehow.

Is it the original battery? If so on an S2 that would be pretty old so most likely the battery is shot.

Yeah it was original. So got a new battery today, I put it in, phone turns on, battery has half life left, seems everything is fine. I leave it to charge, half an hour later I come to check my phone, its off again with no signs of life. I didn't unplug or anything, it was just charging. So back to square one it seems.

Since your phone showed signs of life..hit volume and power..go advance, do battery stats, clear cache, dalvik cache..that exact same happened to me last night while taking pictures of Pitbull..and in fact the battery wasn't dead, it was a certain app that put the phone in a dead stage..

Yeah, I'm starting to think this is software, not hardware problem. The thing is safe mode and recovery modes doesn't work. Plugging it to pc doesn't work either. Is there a way to rewrite software anyway in my situation?
