If someone has the knowledge, and kindness with their time, to list a few DIFFERENCES (and pro/con opinions) between MyBackup and Titanium, I think that would be GREAT. To be honest, I've been using Titanium exclusively and, unfortunately, don't have time right now to try and discover what the differences are so that I can choose one or the other to use. Was hoping that someone here might have gone through that trouble and might be able to comment!

    THANKS!!

It appears that my device (Pandigital Novel - 7" Black) is not fully rooted, although Titanium says it is rooted. Perhaps that is the problem with MyBackup not writing a final ZIP file and displaying an error about tables not being found. I will contact the customer service folks and discuss this with them.

rogcontact, I just got a nook color, which I rooted and installed mybackup root on. Last night, after it tried to do the backup, it gave an error saying can't save backup to SD card.

I haven't had any issues with other apps writing to the SD Card. Is your app possible not seeing the SD card in the right place on the Nook Color?

Anyone else tried to run a mybackup on a rooted Nook Color?

    1. Titanium has Market Doctor which gives you the ability to break the market connection for those apps that you do not want to update, and don't want to bother with reminders.
    - This is the entire reason that I bought Titanium AFTER I got MyBackup. I have at least a dozen apps that I use this for, and reasons include: Developer's update claimed "bug fixes" but actually just added ads to the newer version [several of these], Newer version is glitchy or slowed [a couple of these], Newer version removed key features [xScope], Old version was infringing on a copyright and the new version was a total reformat [a couple of these].

    2. Market Doctor also allows you to reconnect apps with broken market links.
    - This is a big feature for some, but not for me, unless I break a link that I didn't mean to break.

    3. MyBackup has a friendlier UI.
    - Hands down MyBackup is just better to interact with.

If anyone else has more to add, please contribute.

    - Also, with the Data backup, you can migrate a lot of your stuff between Android versions (Android 1.x - Android 2.x - Android 3.0) with MyBackup Root\Pro.

    - Ability to schedule backups for Free

    - As many backups as you want, unlimited.

    - Data viewer allows you to view the data without the need to restore it

    - Online data Web Viewer at RerWare, LLC: Android Backup and BlackBerry Backup - MyBackup Pro allows you to view your data without restoring it from anywhere in the world online.

    - Append options let you restore the data without replacing what is already on the device (SMS will not get deleted if you restore a backup)

    - A few others, I can't think of :)

@Luxluthor: Send us an Email to support@rerware.com about this.

This may be a very late answer to your question but I have just installed MyBackup on my rooted NC (antonooter 3) and have the same problem. However, I did find that if I select APP for backup, or DATA for backup, I can write the file to the SD card. But if I select APP+DATA I cannot.

I have not been able to use Mybackup to write a backup to their online site.

I gave up on Titanium. It kept telling e I had made a backup. It verified it. But next time I started Titanium it said I had never made a backup.

I have this and other problems with using any version (even the latest) of MyBackup on my Nook Color. It will NEVER allow me to backup data, only APKs, and then it often gives me errors. Titanium Backup has always worked perfectly and has never let me down. I wish Mybackup would work, but it pales in comparison to TB.

    Hi folks,

ETA again: the solution! Moved the /rerware folder off the SD card completely and allowed the folder to be recreated. Happy I thought of this. All is well.

ETA: unfortunately the problem with scheduled backups persists. Although an on-demand app backup works, the scheduled one errors out a few apps into the process. What to do...?

I consulted this thread again because I was having the same issue. Turns out at least for me (using Sprint Samsung Epic 4G) the solution was to unin/reinstall. Might want to try that?

i am having the same issue with mybackup root.
backed up all apks+data before wipe, when i restored them, it put them all to internal memory and the majority of apps will not transfer to the sd card.

guess i'll have to redownload everything and have to redo everything anyway, which i was trying to avoid.

have to get titanium for next time to see if it'll work properly.

MyBackup Pro now comes free with a tool called MyToolbox, which allows you to break market links, re-link market links, freeze bloatware, uninstall, clear data, clear cache. All in multi-select apps batch operaions.
    Not one by one.
