This is like round 5 for me & the Triumph. This one is only like a week old & a particularly nasty bug came with it, the damn phone has charging issues I've tried all kinds of stuff so any help would be great. These are the symptoms it randomly stops charging, I turned it off with 87% & plugged it into the charger, the charging light indicated it was charging, when I got this morning & turned it on it only had 9% power, I've also watched the power level drop while it says it charging ? I mean I'll get another one have to but damn come on Motorola this is getting ridiculous, I'll finally get one that has decent functionality & what do you know it won't charge without always having to mess with it to get it to charge.

No to the tethering it started at work yesterday so I'm gonna say it was just in stand by mode. Oh ya & it picks random percentage's to say it's fully charged, like I plugged it in with 37% power checked on it like 5 min. later & says 100%, I unplug it for a min. & it Jump back to like 38% & this crap will keep happening. It's so frustrating a phone that won't charge is worthless.

weird... Try letting it die then charging it enough to get into recovery and wipe battery stats then try charging and see if it does the same thing.

It was off last night charging or so I thought the little red led was on & was still on when I unplugged it & it was at 9% ?

Sounds like one or more of the following:

    1. Your phone's charging port is messed up and it's not charging properly
    2. Your power cord is messed up and not working properly
    3. Your battery stats are totally messed up and should be wiped.

your OEM Triumph cable is always your best bet, everytime ive ever charged my phone using someone elses chrage cable, it does charge my phone, but the battery also gets extremely hot which can kill your battery overall

oem cable does sometimes have issues with its mini usb end not fitting snug, theres also been reports of faulty mini usb on the phone itself and finally plenty of reports of shotty batteries

but your deff. correct, if its ur 6th phone you should not be having the issues like this, and it would be super rare if they sent you batteries with the phones and all 6 batteries were faulty

if the issue happens with the new device there sending i would see if theres anyway you can get them to deff. send you a brand new one

there are also the known programs that kill battery life, but it shouldnt be happening as fast as you describe, you can try with the new device to

    a. not install any apps you dont need for a few days
    b. wipe battery stats
    c. fully charge the new battery and let it fully die atleast twice right outta the box
(I think most batteries for maximum life, suggest fully charging and fully letting it die 3 times right outta the box to train the battery basically)

That will kill Li-on batteries... The batteries used in cellphones which are lithium-ion batteris (Li-on) when fully discharged it shortens the battery life and if done enough time will eventually kill the battery. It's best to charge a Li-on battery before it ever shuts the phone off. Li-on batteries don't need to be trained like Ni-CD and Ni-MH batteries...

Well I know that overcharge on lithium ion is a deft. No-no

But I've never had an issue with fully charging it, on anything I own, phone or my construction tools which all run lithium ion, I'm no battery expert or anything

I think I've had this phone for a year maybe a lil more, It still the original phone I bought with the original battery and I get just under 3 days off a 100% charge no problem

    Again I'm no battery expert

fully charging is fine. It's just the discharging that kills them. Li-on batteries don't like to be discharged they like to be fully charged all the time basically and most Li-on batteries have special circuits to prevent overcharging, so that isn't really a problem either.
