    Left of the wifi signal indicator - white disc with minus sign in centre. It appeared this morning, no reference to it in the 'pull down'.

    Anyone recognise it?

    Still there after 'restart' followed by 'cache partition wipe'.

    :eek:

    You "should" be able to turn it off by pulling the notification bar/shade down twice.

    @scary alien - thanks for your response and you are quite right but the mystery remains as I have never used the function which is why I didn't recognise the icon, in fact HTC are still showing different icons on their M9 Support page :-

    Screenshot_20160830-144241.png Screenshot_20160830-144311.png

    I noticed the icon this morning after being on the web. What compounds the mystery, and I know this sounds silly, is that it disappeared when I went onto Android Forums to post my question - I had also been on Android Forums earlier on when it appeared. It isn't something that could be switched on accidentally as it takes 5 taps to get there :eek::eek:.

    @Clementine_3 - thanks for your response - the double pull down on the M9 gives you the choice of 12 out of 24 settings and as I have never used 'Do not disturb' it isn't one of my 12 :).

    Yeah, @tommo47, that is kind of weird :thinking: :eek: since it does take quite a few taps/touches to get to that Settings option...

    This page also indicates that even if an app did it, you would (should) have been prompted to give your permission, so that even adds to the mystery...

    Do you have a smartwatch connected? I've accidentally put my phone in Do Not Disturb from my watch, whoops.
    That wouldn't explain why it isn't on everything though...

    Well you should get one, then maybe that would be the reason for your current issue and it'd be fixed. Duh. :p

    You could give me yours, then we would have fixed an issue for both of us :D:D.

    One of HTC's handsets/software builds along the way had a shortcut to 'Do No Disturb Mode' hiding in the Airplane Mode / Shutdown / Restart menu. (you know, when you long press the physical power button). But that was a while back, I think.
    Did you have any active calendar events? Calendar sync from Google with a specific event (meeting) could set the phone into DND mode?
    Does your browser have an ad-block feature or plug-in? I received an intrusive-ish ad or two on AF in the past 24/48 hours. Maybe an ad-blocker could trip off a DND icon?

    @PyroSporker @scary alien @Clementine_3

    :rolleyes: It's down to a very serious 'senior moment :D.

    Longpressing the volume down button switches the device to 'vibrate', release and press once more and it switches on 'Do not disturb', a pop-up appears to allow selection of Priority mode and an adjustable timer (default 1 hour).

    I usually wake up about 5.30-6.00am, switch the phone on and reduce volume to minimum to allow my sleeping beauty a few more undisturbed zzzzs.

    Somehow, I've managed to switch on Priority mode without realising it, noticed the icon and not recognised it only to have it 'disappear' an hour later when the timer took it off.

    :thinking:;):(:mad::eek::thinking:

    In my defence, your honour, HTC haven't helped much by showing outdated DND icons everywhere:-

    Sorry Clementine, you can't palm your dying smartwatch onto me - I don't need one now. LOL

    Glad you got it figured out. Silly stupid volume control.

    About the watch, it's not a question of need...it's all about want and we all know you want one! Maybe not a dying one, but you want one.
