Help MyTouch 4G Antenna

Hi there
First time post for me here.
Just picked up a mytouch 4g with T-Mobile, they had a free phone offer several weeks back, and it was too tempting to switch over from Sprint.
So far the phone has been a big upgrade over the Mogul smartphone I had before. But the signal strength and lack of an external antenna port is not helping me for my mobile data needs.

I'm willing to hack the phone to add an external antenna port if its possible and wanted to ask if anyone had done this yet, or happen to know a bit more information before I get started.

I see Wilson has some cradle solutions, but I already have a really nice external dual band NMO mounted on my car with an FME Female connector ready to rock.

Have you tried the wi-fi calls? I enable wi-fi calls and it actually worked for me. My mom lives in the country and reception is terrible out there, but since she has wi-fi I just connect to it and I get crystal clear calls and txts
