Mytouch not letting me save more than 4 contacts?

I recently bought a used MyTouch and am trying to add my contacts... It will not save more than the first 4 contacts I put in. I have tried importing all of my contacts from my SIM card and it still doesn't keep them. Right after adding them, it will show them in the contact list, then I will return to the home screen and go back into contacts and all but the very first 4 that I put in are gone. I have re-entered them numerous times only to get the same result. Help please!

Don't know about importing directly from the sim, but go to the Market and download T-Mobile Mobile Backup. Don't remember exactly how I did it, but you can use that to export from the sim to T-Mobile to your Gmail account.

So all of my contacts have to be imported into my google account for them to show on the phone's contact list? Sorry, very new to the smartphone/android network lol.
