Can get the tilt with two fingers to work, but I can't get the rotate with two fingers to work.
Same here, maybe we have defective screens?
Well that's already known, lol
Nexus One was not to get that 'feature'...because of the digitizer. Newer phones with better digitizers are, as the original Motorola Milestone (Droid), which uses a different yet better digitizer than the N1
Was the screen ever fixed on newer N1's?
not a software problem, but hardware
That's what I meant, was the hardware ever fixed? I read somewhere that different screens were used later on.
yes, SLCD instead of AMOLEDs, but that's just the display, the digitizer was still the same
i'd just like to get on the record that maps 5.0 is fricking awesome.
and yes our digitizer effing sucks...
That about sums it all up
We've known it was pants for a while really. Good job rotating when in 3D mode isn't a huge deal for me, since I don't live near anything that's 3D enabled.
I can't get Maps 5.0, the Market just says "The requested item could not be found"
I compared my nexus to my girlfriends samsung vibrant and its really not a big difference. I might have to do the 2 finger thing twice before the screen responds it not a huge deal imho. And yes maps 5.o is awesome
Here is your official confirmation from Google.

should be as easy as getting a market notification (update available) and click 'update all'
or not ... i have the same issue .
App brain showed the update before the market did for me.
I updated, but I don't get any of this 3D talk. It looks like a funny looking version of the old Maps.
You looking in the cities that have it? it's not everywhere
Go to New York, zoom in and turn off satellite view. You'll soon see if it's working.
Aw shucks, silly me thinking they would make Los Angeles 3D . Maybe it's only a matter of time...
EDIT: Downtown LA is in 3D.. just not East LA. (Makes sense, there aren't even any tall buildings in East LA.)
Double EDIT: The two-finger tilt works fine. I can tilt up and down as I please. BUT, the rotation either doesn't work or I can't figure out how to do it..
I like how the map now rotates with me. It was always confusing trying to figure out which direction I'm actually facing in reference to the map.
I thought it did that anyway if you switched on compass mode..?
Edit: or was that just in Street view?
I Wish Google added maps of shopping centers like Microsoft did with their Bing maps.
