Help Navigation App

Does anyone know if the Navigation App that was preinstalled on the phone is constantly using data as you are driving or is it just running on the GPS signal?

I haven't used the app because I was afraid it would use too much data. I'm on the 200mg plan.

Thats a good question you can maybe try turning off data and leave gps on and see if it still works, if not then it would be using data

It's using data to download the current map, near-by attractions, etc... Try 2mP's suggestion. Widgetoid is a good widget for toggling data on/off.

You will need to install a separate satNav app such as Sygic or CoPilot if you want locally stored maps ie no data download from the phone.
