Necessary to unlock boot loader for flashing roms based on stock android

    i have Xperia S rooted and buzy box installed ...
    i just want to know tht do i have to unlockboot loader to flash roms based on stock kernels???
    n if we flash a rom n wipe data n cache etc. den it also wipes away our nandroid back up made..???

    Firstly, you should copy your nandroid backup to a pc or at least to an sdcard. It will be wiped if you leave it in the phone memory!

    Yes you need an unlocked bootloader to boot into a custom rom(anything that did not come with the phone or as an official update). Most custom roms are "based on" stock roms/kernels.

    but can u please share a link in detailed about making a nandroid backup, flashing a rom and again coming back to the previously saved rom?:D:)
