ok I'm currently running kernel 2.6.29 bekit and ese81 and a 1 ghz overclock. can someone suggest a kernel that would allow for a higher overclock.

also what are your guys favorite rooted apps.

    thanks

jdlfg is a newcomer to the kernel business, and I've got to say: I really like what he's done so far. I'm running his 1.2ghz kernel and it's running fantastically.

Running jdlfgs' 1.0GHz, and it seems to run fine. Lowest setting is 400MHz, which is a bit unusual, but supposedly he's running at 400 on the same voltage used to get 250 on other kernels...marketing hype? <shrug> Haven't had it on long enough to see how it affects battery compared to Bekit (what I ran before).

Am I installing kernels wrong. Do you have to something special when u install a new kernel over an old one

What are you doing? What happens (or doesn't) when you're done?

    open rom manager
    clear download cache
    flash clockwork mod recovery
    reboot in to recovery
    download the kernel/install it
    reboot

    p3 droid 1250 won't go past 550ghz and wifi tether doesn't work

Use the autodetect setting rather than the droid setting in setcpu.

When installing just a kernel you dont wipe data and cache. You have to reinstall the rom, then use rom manager to install the kernel.

how do you reinstall the rom

Don't reinstall any ROM. YOu can change kernels without changing anything else, in the majority of cases.

What ROM are you running now? If it's a Cyanogen Mod ROM, then Bekit or P3Droid are the easiest ones to flash, and are both excellent. You can get them in ROM Manager - Select Download ROM, then Cyanogen, and then P3 Droid or Bekit...

p3 is the only low voltage kernel my droid likes at 1.2GHz

I really think you need to do some reading my friend. You have another post where you get a boot loop at 1.3, but you are having trouble doing it via ROM Manager, yada yada.

These issues that you are having can be solved via searching the forums and reading the stickies.
You are going too fast and are not trying to understand why things are happening - you just want us to help you fix it.

We are all here to help, but you need to do lots more legwork before you begin hammering away with these questions.

Don't take offense, lots of people make these mistakes, but lots of people need to read more before they root and install ROMs and kernels.
Many of these problems can be avoided, or figured out quicker by hitting "search".
