Need Guide !!

Hye All, just got S2 month ago. From nokia 3310 to S2. It gives me Technology shock. So i need your help, to root my phone. heres my phone detailed. by the way im from malaysia

MODEL: GT-I9100G
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.6
BASEBAND VERSION: I9100GDZKJ2
KERNEL: 2.6.35.7- se.infra@SEI-30 #2.....i cant see a thing, theres more...
BUILD NO: GINGERBREAD.DZKJ2

So i am interested in the villianrom. my question are
1. if i place stockrom with villianrom will my android version downgrade?
2. to root my phone does i need to backup my kernel? btw..what is kernel
3. Root and unroot. Ive read some of rooting s2 stuff.. but afraid because none of the tutorial got my phone model.

need help. seriously.. into villainrom ~

I'm going to disappoint you here. The kernels and roms which work on the gti9100 aren't compatible with the 9100G.

I'm afraid that Shotgun84 is correct when it comes to the "G" version.

However there is a way to root it and there is at least one custom ROM that I know of.
