So I have an evo that is unrevoked and running 2.1. I want to upgrade to 2.2 and I understand that I have to download the file and rename it to update.zip and do a recovery boot. But after I download OTA I cant find the freaking file to rename it. Its not on my sdcard or on the phone. I used astro File manager to look. And I cant find anywhere to download it.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

This probably should be in the Root sub-forum, and I'm pretty sure this has been answered already if you search.

Before you take a single next step, make a nandroid backup of your phone.
Download a rooted stock ROM and put in the top SD folder. Don't rename it.
Did you make a nandroid yet?
Backup your apps and data with Titanium or MyBackup.
Wipe and reset the phone. Wipe dalvik-cache.
Flash the rooted stock ROM with its original name.
    Reboot.
Restore your apps, screens, and data.
    Done.
PS - Did I mention how important it is to make a nandroid backup first?
