Root Need help to root Tmobile LG Optimus T

Hello All,

I am a new bee and needs help.

I have a tmobile optimus T locked to T mobile network , i am interested in rooting and installing custom rom.

Will i have to unlock the phone before rooting and installing custom rom or the process of rooting the device and installing custom rom will unlock the device as well.

No, Unlocking is different than Root. To root you don't need to unlock. From what I understand, unlock means that you can use the phone on a different carrier's network other than T-Mobile. But rooting is what you do to allow you to install custom roms. The rooting process does not unlock the phone.
