Okay, so I am running out of internal space on my Optimus F3 (LG-P659 (4.1.2)). I decided to go to Walmart, and buy an Micro SD card and it will add to my storage for apps. Boy was I wrong, I had no clue that that doesn't apply to downloading apps to your external SD. I have been searching for days on how to switch your internal SD for your external, put apps onto your external, and a bunch of other crap. I really need some help on this, because I am the type of person who downloads a bunch of heavy games. Even if I could actually transfer all of the game files to my external SD, I don't have enough memory on my internal to download it in the first place with all of my other apps uninstalled. (by the way, I already rooted my phone) I would appreciate it very very much if someone could help me with this problem. Thanks.

O ok that sounds better you need to get a apk called apps to sd it should look like this. A2sd . This can be found in the playstore . Or you can try romtoolbox the lite version or the paid has it .

    Welcome to Android Forums.

Who is your carrier? When we know that we can move your question to the area (sub-forum) where questions about your root-ed phone are discussed.

Now when you install the app it will ask you auto or internal or sd put sd card . And now any apk you install will go to the sd ... But be careful cause if you go into your recovery and perform any kind of WIPE this will delete the apps and you will need to download them again . To avoid this make a back up of all apps .

There's apps for that like 'app 2sd', 'easy app to sd' and others, you can find them in play store but the main thing your phone has to support this feature if it does you can do it with one of those apps otherwise none of them can't work for you.

But is there a way to use your external SD memory as your internal memory?

Since you are root-ed the best thing you can do for any issue is to talk to other people who are using the same phone on the same carrier that you are using. Solutions to problems that un-root-ed phones have may or may not work for you. Solutions to problems that root-ed phones have on other carriers may or may not work for you.

    Who is your carrier?

hi, I was thinking about buying this phone from t mobile this week.
Can u tell me how much storage it has out of the box? Their website says for 4gb. But I was just wanted to make sure because all other carriers of this phone only has 1.2 gb of internal storage out of the box.

    thanks

Since you're rooted you can use Link2SD to move apps to your external SD, also GL to SD for games.
The 4GB internal storage includes system memory that is not user accessible, there is only 1.2 GB available for apps and data.

I installed link2SD, and I partitioned my SD but in Link2Sd, it says this:

    Mount script cannot be created.

    mount: No CSI structure
    available

ext3 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition.

    Should I change the ext3 to FAT32?

Oh, and GL to SD is working FANTASTICALLY

I think I used FAT32 when I created my partition... can't recall. Try it.
I'm not much of a gamer, but ended up placing a bunch of games on the phone and with all my other apps have 893MB of free space.

GL to SD is a life saver.
The thing I've found is that some games will download part of the data if you do not have the space needed, then use GL to SD to move it and you can finish downloading the rest of the data. But some games require all the space for the data and will not start to download if not enough is available. Which creates a problem for some games.

There is a mod for the tmo / metro PCs phone that links your internal storage and your SD card. The app called link2sd also doss a similar thing (we not quite)
