Support Need some help on what to do to ise Google speech to text

    How do I get a Google phone number to use the new voice app. I would like to try the speech to text. Thank you.

    Im not sure what you are asking. Do you just want to use speech to text? If so, everytime the keyboard pops up there is a little microphone. Click that, then talk.

    Sorry about that, Im typing this on my Evo while at work. I meant using Google Search. When you say, send text to Jon Doe, how are you. When I use the command my text appears but my contact name does not. I believe I need to sync my contacts with my Google account. Im such a noob at this, sorry.

    I use Edwin for voice recognition and it does this very same thing - when you ask to send an sms, it captures the message, but not the recipient.

    Worse - Edwin documents this as normal behavior.

    This may (or may not?) be fundamental to something in Android.
