After a long ordeal with what turned out to be a defective phone, I ended up with a brand new still in the box Samsung Galaxy Core Prime which I hope to sell. It was never activated, so T-Mobile was unable to do a quick unlock for me. They sent me directions on how to do it myself, but I am totally incompetent at this stuff and I have no idea what to do. (Golden ager here.) I need to make sure it's unlocked to get the best price, so any help would be very appreciated. Should I just sell it as is and say it's "eligible" to be unlocked?? Dumb question: is it even "locked" to begin with, since I never used it? Many thanks.

Just tell it like it is to the purchaser, they won't have any problem with getting that done at a T-Mobile store.
Leave the box unopened., that is a plus selling point.

Actually, it is not 'locked', it is just not registered.... if it does not have a Contract open on it, anyone should be able to use it.

When you sell it, call T-Mobile and tell them "I sold the phone" and no longer have it.
