Does anyone have a reliable link to download Windows XP USB drivers for a Galaxy S3 I9300? The links that are posted on this forum are old and lead to a page saying that Hotfile has been permanently closed. Links directly to Samsung are usless as weel because a search by model number doesn't even recognize the galaxy S3 I9300 as a valid model number.

It maybe wants you to type gt-i9300 but i think a good way to install the drivers are just to install the Samsung Kies software. That should install the latest drivers in the process
P.s i think Hotfile got shut down for piracy or something(?)

Thank you but I tried that as well, to no avail. Since the original Galaxy S I have never had Kies actually work. It would install but it would NEVER connect to the phone. Even on an absolutely fresh install of Windows.

Kies itself is a waste of space that sits on my PC's hard drive doing nothing. I only installed it to get the drivers for things like Odin to work.

While Kies is ridiculous in it's failure to connect with a device, the drivers work fine and are used by Odin, various rooted toolboxes you can use when connected to PC etc. Kies installation, on a PC, is basically just a means to an end.

    TBH I've never installed Kies.

Odin works ok with with the drivers you get if you install the ADB packages so I've always gone that route.

I'm guessing with the new Web based version of Odin, drivers are no longer needed and we can resign Kies to the bin?

OOOOOOPS! I just realized I had asked about drivers for Windows XP when I meant to ask about drivers for Windows 7. Anyhooooo, I did install Kies and it DID install the mobile phone drivers in the process and they are working! Have a great day!!

Yep, same drivers for Windows XP, Vista and 7. I've installed the exact same Kies .exe on the different machines via a USB stick and Kies worked on all three of them.
