Should be able to do the one-click root method on the Intercept.

You enabled third party apps? Are you running 2.2 or 2.3? I know Gingerbreak will work for 2.2 and we'll likely be able to find you the right file if it's update to 2.3.

When I rooted mine back in the day I flashed Joseph Mothers rooted kernel and custom recovery with a modified Moment update script. Didn't have any 1 clicks back then and kernel plus recovery had to be flashed together. Here's where I got all my files back in the day: http://forum.sdx-developers.com/index.php?board=118.0
    Good luck!

Download root checker from the play store, 2.3.7 is a custom rom on that device. It was officially updated from 2.1 Eclair to 2.2 FroYo. If you're not rooted go to the thread that I linked and get the files you need to push a rooted kernel.

I would suggest searching that on youtube first, you can see a demo that show how it's done, how to use odin.

Kies doesn't work well with most phones but especially this one, the site I linked has a modified Moment swupdater application for Windows that I used to use. SDX has one of the only development forums for this device. Also make sure that whatever kernel you choose is compatible with the rom and Android version that you're running. :D
