Do you mean the 2.0.1 update? From all published accounts, the 2.1 update isn't scheduled to be delivered until January.
I'm sorry, I did mean the 2.01.![]()
I want my update!! but im also excited to own a phone with such dynamic and constant change that is always improving... I like that.. as well as tons of apps that are continuously being updated and added... Not like a static phone with maybe one update in 2 years and no updates... I like the frequent updates and improvements and not having to go to a VZW store to get it...
A little off-topic, but it's great to see Verizon supporting the device from the get-go, and it gives some hope that they'll continue to do so for the long-term.
Prior to the Droid, I had an unlocked HTC Magic (MyTouch 3G) from Rogers, one of Canada's main telcos, that I was running on AT&T's network. Last I heard, they're still stuck at 1.5 and Rogers hasn't said peep about upgrading it to Donut, let alone Eclair.
Technically speaking, the device manufacturer is responsible for releasing updates. The carrier is only responsible for the OTA distribution.

The January update will probably be 2.0.2, not 2.1, since it's bug fixes.
My OTA update arrived overnight...looking for any changes.![]()
so you couldn't find any changes? Hell, you should be able to spot 3 when you turn the phone on...unless you are using a security pattern.
I believe someone said there are 800,000 devices. So it could be as late as monday, i believe.
I did the force update. It was really easy, and i doubt the update going out this weekend is any different than the force update.
Woke up to my update notification this morning. Installed it, and noticed a number of things right off the bat. First, the obvious change of design on the unlock screen (I prefer the previous unlock with the rotating wheel). I also noticed that the phone seems MUCH snappier and smoother when opening the window shade or the app list, as well as other action animations. Maybe coincidence on my phone, but it certainly seems like 2.0.1 is better optimized for the Droid. Anybody else notice this?
Yeah much, much snappier. I like everything so far... But I'm a victim of the text lag too.
You mean lagging within the Messaging app?
No like lagging when I try to post on here from the droid or something. Lagging within the browser.
