Hi all, i am a first time poster.

My phone has recently prompted me to download the latest version of android 4.3, which i did. So far, it actually looks pretty good. Im not really an expert, and i dont know many of the new features are, but it looks nice.

Only problem is, in the notifcation area (the top bar of the phone, and subsequently when you drag the page down) it is constantly refreshing with an individual notifcation for every single picture i have in my download folder. I will attach a screen shot, but essentially its like the phone thinks ive only just downloaded them. Frustrating to say the least, and then you clear them, and they come back within a few seconds! I would like to say ive tried this and this, but no idea what to do tbh (other than deleting all the photos in that folder).. any suggestions??

Thanks, dave

Update - which really doesnt make sense.. ive tried moving all items in this folder to a new one that ive named temp.. the phone still brings up the notifications, but when you try to open one of the files from the list, it says file not found?! So where did the notification come from then?? Stupid phone

Hi, not an expert by any means but I also had this problem.

I solved it by going into settings / application manager

picked ALL tab.

Then select Downloads.

I then did a clear cache / clear data. Not sure If I did a force stop first :)

Hope that helps

Hi, thanks for your reply. I managed to find the bit you referred to, however i found that both buttons were greyed out already. I did the force stop but that didnt solve it unfortunately. Perhaps its just a bug in the new android version

this prompted me take a look at running processes, in the list you have the one entitled downloads.. but you also have one called download manager. Turns out this is the one that has the glitch.. simple temporary fix for now.. uncheck the notifications box under download manager - seems to have solved the problem!

Was doing this to me also. What worked for me, when the notification appears hold on it until "app info" appears. Select app info then clear cache and force stop. This has worked on my phone and a buddies that was doing the same thing. Hope thus helps

I have been having the same issue since the update. When un-checking the notifications box in downloads it warns about missing notifications about updates. Does anyone see any reason to be concerned with un-checking? Thanks for your help.
