Help New firmware available - PDA:KE7 / PHONE:KE4 / CSC:KD1 (XEU)

About half hour ago Kies told me this firmware was available...
2 firmwares in 2 weeks is unsual.

No idea what it does as I can never find a list from Samsung...downloading now.

I have just installed it with no problems....
I am using an unbranded sim free UK phone.
Only visible change is the Music Hub icon is now a speaker with a note on it.

Haven't noticed anything else yet....doing a full charge now and will if battery consumption has improved.

This update also cures the com.android.phone problem associated with the boot up of simfree mobiles using Orange simcards

Check my batter usage and looks like the update has stopped Maps using 20% of my battery all the time

Seems that whenever I plug my mains charger in the phone thinks I am plugging into a PC and goes to the Kies connect screen and I need to press home to come out!!
Very strange, anyone else have this?

Just updated mine, Can't really see that much change, as already stated the Music hub icon has changed. Lets hope the battery life has been improved.

Don't seem to have the charger problem, I have noticed that my mobile number is now showing in the About Phone screen,(previously this showed unavailable).

At the moment I'm sure another update will be out soon.

it's possible there were issues with 3-6, with 7 being the version they finally got right

Wow looks like Samsung has been busy rumaging through XDA - SGS II forums.
Good, may this lead to better things. Updating mine now. Hope its better than that shoddy KE2 firmware...at least for Orange U.K users like myself.

Does everyone follow the required things at the top of the update? where it say make sure the battery is fully charged, back up data etc.?

I'm just charging now before the update so I don't mess anything up?!?!

I am on orange... well my sim is on orange but phone is unlocked.. i had the ke2 problem, but that was only on if i manually switched the phone off from the power and rebooted it and the message came up, however it worked fine with the KE2 firmware. Anyway I did do the KE7 update and it is working fine so far. Other than the only visual difference with the icon for the music hub being different & not getting the boot up error, I have no idea what else has changed.

If you go to Samsungs website they have Samsung Kies Mini software for the MAC and it says thats its for software updates and firmware updates.

I'm on Orange (sim card) on unlocked SGS II Phone with Stock U.K firmware.

I can tell you that the phone is behaving as it should be. Knowing to automatically put me back to Orange when there is coverage.

On KE2 I had to select Orange Network manually from settings because SGS II didn't put me back to it from Orange-Tmobile (therefore not being able to 3G)

Orange users. After 36 hours I can say it is fine to update
