Is there anything new about this version that was not included in the upgrade to 2.2? I am running a FRG22D ROM right now and it has 2.2.1.
I think they are still improving GAPPS and this was just leaked or something. I don't think everything is or was ready for release when 2.2 flowed out. My opinion.
Is there anything different in this release? Anything updated?

does anyone know if this new version allows you to change the "from" address when you reply to an email?
Just tried for you. No.
Is this stable? Why isn't it on the market? Just in the past few days, all of my Google Maps Apps have updated? Shouldn't this be part of the 'package'?
This was basically leaked i think.
Gmail isn't in the market so it couldn't be updated through it.
Its an integrated app.
Yes, it is stable.
It does, but some times, it takes an extra step. I have 2 Gmail accounts on my phone. If I open Gmail and compose a message, I have the drop down box to toggle FROM addresses.
If I take a pic from my gallery and choose Share via Gmail, it randomly selects one of my 2 Gmail addresses. Here is how I can toggle E-Mail addresses from here:
- Save the message as a draft
- Close the message and then go back to my Home screen
- Open Gmail and make sure I am in the Gmail address that I saved the draft in
- Press Menu and Go to Labels
- Go into Drafts
- Select the E-Mail with the attachment
- At this point, I have the drop down arrow to toggle my FROM address.
I know it is senseless process, but it has been working for me since 2.1.
Ok. So I'm a noob and all but if I have superuser permissions that means my Droid is rooted? Correct?
Scratch that because you could have Super user permissions and still be unrooted.
If you already haven't, download android terminal emulator from the market.
Now type su and hit enter.
If a # appears, you are rooted.
Anything otherwise mean you aren't rooted.
Ok. Got the whole 1.1mb file, but it says it has trouble parsing the file?
good score. thanks. copy and paste.. it's about time!
just drop this in my Dropbox and use Packageinstaller and voila... up and running
Had that once or twice. I believe you just need to Re-download the file and then use Astro or Linda to install the file.
you could also email the apk to your gmail and then use tattachapkinstaller to install apps from gmail. it is a good background app to own.
Got that at first also.
Poloki right. Just try again.
After my first attempt, i tried again and it upgraded Gmail fine.
I used Astro.
I uninstalled GMail using Ti Backup and it worked fine.
