Hey all! First off I want to thank everyone here for their time, answers, and general thoughtfullness. You all have been great! Secondly I wanted to share my first boot screen project here with you all. My gawd I had no clue what I was getting myelf into I know this might not be up every ones alley, but hey I'm proud of it, and wanted to show it off. I want to first send props out to Jeremy Herrmann for creating the original boot so that I could expand off his creation. To NUNsLAUGHTER92 for the OP and nuttmeg for the repost on how to get sound to work. To isaac87 for the Ascends CM7, Six6Sicks for making a killer bootscreen found here , that I had to add it in. To printsweet for the install information for metros 2.2. And Finally LCARScom.net for the newly added screenshots that was turned into animation. This is the vid of the bootanimation.zip showing both sequences. I have this split in three seperate files so you can have one, the other or both: 1. bootanimation.zip is what you see in the video, is labeled PADD ASCEND and is 320x480 pixels(both sequences together), is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media 2. ufpboot is just the first sequence (UFP seal only), but will need to be renamed to bootanimation.zip before it is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media 3. LCARS is the second sequence (running computer screens), but will need to be renamed to bootanimation.zip before it is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media *** I also have the sound file here in a zip with a txt and other files on where they go in order to get sound to work as explained here. *** Metro 2.2*** should follow the link above to get the sound, but the directory for you is /system/media/audio/ui | Also prinsweet stated that he used a program called VLC media player to change the format from mp3 to ogg. I'm personally not sure if this conversion is required or just a precautionary step since in the past I was able to put mp3's in place of ogg's and they worked, but that was an older system as well. As soon as I have more time I will post the ogg version here but until then I appologize for not having the file, but GO FISH! UPDATES: This is the vid of the updated bootanimation.zip that is 480x800 pixel size. Not knowing where else to put this I have created more files for different phones and I'm adding them here to this post: 1. android audio.mp3 This file is just the new sound file that is shown in new video above. ** This WILL work on the Huawei** 2. 480x800.zip This file is the new bootanimation.zip for EVO 4G and equivalent (will need to be renamed) it is 480x800 pixel and labeled PADD EVO 4G **this will not work on the Huawei** 3. 480x854.zip This file is the new bootanimation.zip for Droid X and equivalent (will need to be renamed) it is 480x854 pixel and labeled PADD DROID X**this will not work on the Huawei** 4. newbootsound.zip This zip is the newly modified bootsound files for CM7 (running on nightly 180 atm). This file was created to fix the sound file being cut off before finishing and booting. For the turbo nerds such as myself I will break down what I did to fix this. This is added to the init.local.rc file at the end: (originally) ###Bootsound - Safe to Delete: Start ### service bootsound /system/bin/bootsound user media group audio disabled oneshot on property:init.svc.bootanim=running # to correct timing start bootsound on property:dev.bootcomplete=1 stop bootsound ### Bootsound - Safe to Delete: End ### Notice the two lines of code that are in red have been removed in this version so that the boot sound will finish in its fullness and go right to the lock screen. I did not break down the two different animations for the evo or the x since they boot quicker than the ascend and there is not enough cells to make a full ani on their own. (plus i'm tinkering with new project Droid+Portal= Droital?!?) Enjoy!
