    Hey all!
First off I want to thank everyone here for their time, answers, and general thoughtfullness. You all have been great! Secondly I wanted to share my first boot screen project here with you all. :eek:My gawd I had no clue what I was getting myelf into:D

I know this might not be up every ones alley, but hey I'm proud of it, and wanted to show it off. I want to first send props out to Jeremy Herrmann for creating the original boot so that I could expand off his creation. To NUNsLAUGHTER92 for the OP and nuttmeg for the repost on how to get sound to work. To isaac87 for the Ascends CM7, Six6Sicks for making a killer bootscreen found here , that I had to add it in. To printsweet for the install information for metros 2.2. And Finally LCARScom.net for the newly added screenshots that was turned into animation.

:D This is the vid of the bootanimation.zip showing both sequences. I have this split in three seperate files so you can have one, the other or both:

    1. bootanimation.zip is what you see in the video, is labeled PADD ASCEND and is 320x480 pixels(both sequences together), is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media

    2. ufpboot is just the first sequence (UFP seal only), but will need to be renamed to bootanimation.zip before it is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media

    3. LCARS is the second sequence (running computer screens), but will need to be renamed to bootanimation.zip before it is placed in /system/media | *Metro 2.2* should go in cust/metropcs/us/media

*** I also have the sound file here in a zip with a txt and other files on where they go in order to get sound to work as explained here.
*** Metro 2.2*** should follow the link above to get the sound, but the directory for you is /system/media/audio/ui |

Also prinsweet stated that he used a program called VLC media player to change the format from mp3 to ogg. I'm personally not sure if this conversion is required or just a precautionary step since in the past I was able to put mp3's in place of ogg's and they worked, but that was an older system as well. As soon as I have more time I will post the ogg version here but until then I appologize for not having the file, but GO FISH! :p

    UPDATES:
:D This is the vid of the updated bootanimation.zip that is 480x800 pixel size. Not knowing where else to put this I have created more files for different phones and I'm adding them here to this post:

    1. android audio.mp3 This file is just the new sound file that is shown in new video above. ** This WILL work on the Huawei**

    2. 480x800.zip This file is the new bootanimation.zip for EVO 4G and equivalent (will need to be renamed) it is 480x800 pixel and labeled PADD EVO 4G **this will not work on the Huawei**

    3. 480x854.zip This file is the new bootanimation.zip for Droid X and equivalent (will need to be renamed) it is 480x854 pixel and labeled PADD DROID X**this will not work on the Huawei**

    4. newbootsound.zip This zip is the newly modified bootsound files for CM7 (running on nightly 180 atm). This file was created to fix the sound file being cut off before finishing and booting. For the turbo nerds such as myself I will break down what I did to fix this.

This is added to the init.local.rc file at the end: (originally)
    ###Bootsound - Safe to Delete: Start ###
    service bootsound /system/bin/bootsound
    user media
    group audio
    disabled
    oneshot
on property:init.svc.bootanim=running # to correct timing
    start bootsound
    on property:dev.bootcomplete=1
    stop bootsound
    ### Bootsound - Safe to Delete: End ###

Notice the two lines of code that are in red have been removed in this version so that the boot sound will finish in its fullness and go right to the lock screen.

I did not break down the two different animations for the evo or the x since they boot quicker than the ascend and there is not enough cells to make a full ani on their own. (plus i'm tinkering with new project Droid+Portal= Droital?!?)

    Enjoy!

Now that is one of the best LCARS items I've ever seen for Android. I'd be proud of that too!

    I'm grabbing it :D

    Very good job!

i got that for my bootanimation but it takes my phone longer to turn on so it dont come on after the bootanimation is done, is there anyway i can shorten my boot time to play with the bootanimation and turn on after the bootanimation is done?

Its great to see you all are enjoying this as much as I do :).

Yes Playful bootanimation.zip is the whole video, the UFPboot is just the UFP shield flashing in and out repeating, and LCARSboot is the LCARS boot up. How ever remember which ever one you choose you have to renamne it bootanimation.zip or else it won't work.

Well My ascend is currently running cm7 05212011 at 710mhz with the interactive governor. I was running it at 748mhz but then the mod changed:D, but it was working on this back then and didn't have much of a difference on the ending and when the phone started. Do you have alot of apps coming on at startup? or maybe a bunch of aps on the sd card?

This being my first droid I only have a 4gb sd card on it, 57 apps and my SD maid app is showing I have 54mb free on internal data, 76mb free on the OS and only 649mb used out of 3.73gb on my sd card.

kingjay how much longer does it take for your droid to boot after the animation is over with? Just a rough guess...

Ouch!! If it was like 2 or 3 seconds longer,i would have added some more screens for you, but 45 seconds is almost the while thing. I have no clue why it's taking your phone so long to boot.

This is awesome! I got the boot animations to work but I could not get the sounds installed. It won't let me copy/move or overwrite the existing files. Probably a stupid mistake I'm making.

    Thanks for the great stuff!

Not much of a Trekie, but this is a very nice boot animation. On my phone, it's timed just right, as soon as it finishes, I get my lock screen.

probably not. Unfortunately part of the process in making this is that the pictures are sized to the amount of pixels that its going to be displayed on. If your tablet resizes them, then it will work, if it doesn't then you will have sound and a black screen till the boot is done. Send me a PM with either your device info or if you know your pixel count send that. I should be able to resize them to get it to work.
