New Member Hello

Good evening all! I am new to this and wanted to get some advice on my Droid X... when I turn it on the red circle just stays on the screen and will not move to the next screen... I am referring to the "Droid" red and silver "button" that comes on when you turn the phone on... help!

Is the phone brand new? Or new to you? Has anyone tried making modifications to the phone recently? If the phone is brand new then I'd suggest taking it back to Verizon.
