GOOD DAY TO ALL ANDROID BROTHER'S AND SISTER'S,:D

My name is Steve, I own a Samsung Fascinate w/Verizon.
Guess what? Still waiting for Android Froyo 2.2 or better yet 2.3.
    Oh well.
I guess its time to learn how to Root and install a new ROM, like the Froyo 2.2 that KAOS has created. Looks great but any other suggestions?

Other than that, I am married 11yrs, wonderful, beautiful wife, Tricia and my 9yr old Bestist Buddy, David.
Diagnosed with Relapsing/Remitting M.S. in 2007. It has not been easy going since that last/first Relapse, not for me or the family.
    Just trying to hang on.
I am some what techie, (I new my Blackberry Storm in and out).
I like to read about new stuff and tinker around.
Of course right now its all about my FASCINATE. So I'll see ya around folks.

Is this thread for Steve's only? lOl...

Welcome! You will have tons of reading to keep you busy before diving into rooting and flashing roms. I think a lot of people are on either stock EB01 or Superclean v 2.2 (Like me). Both are Froyo builds. Some remain on 2.1 Eclair roms still. Just a matter of choice. I must have the lastest and greatest :p Good luck!

Welcome to the forum!.. There is a lot of information available on here and XDA that will be of great help to you!.. Take your time and make sure you understand before doing anything. Even then, you will find that things happen that you have no understanding of. But then again, learning about what just happened and what is needed to fix it is part of the fun. (Well as long as you don't turn you phone into a brick.;))

I myself have Superclean 2.2 on my phone but now find myself in a little bit of limbo. Similar to yourself, I came from another operating system (Windows Mobile). Android is a much better system and I have been trying to learn all about it prior to rooting or updating ROM's. When Froyo became available, I thought that it was time to take the plunge, but now that I have jumped, I am both excited and completely confused... There is such a difference between Windows and Android that any type of comparison just makes everything blurry. (At least with my current understanding.)

I will say that Froyo and the Superclean ROM are awesome! I love the new capabilities and everything that it brings to the table. I just wish I had a better understanding of what Clockwork, Odin, Voodoo, freezing, and other necessary components or steps were actually doing instead of just following a step by step direction post. Finding what people are talking about when they use acronyms can be confusing and mind numbing from time to time.

But with all that said, I still encourage everyone to take the plunge. After all, nothing makes you learn what is happening quicker than when you can't get you phone to work and you use it on a daily basis...

    Enjoy the forums,
    Speed...

Not intending to steal anyone's intro, but I have been a long time lurker and was feeling bold after reading Steve's post and figured I would introduce myself.

Im William, single, live in florida, and 9 weeks left on my student teaching internship until I go from the fake world to the real world.

I've had a fascinate since November and love it. Scared to root as of now but that may change soon as I am growing anxious to get me some froyo. Hello everyone.
