It says nowhere that the nexus 7 won't support key lime pie... And I would be surprised if even the old galaxy nexus doesn't get the update to key lime pie when it is released so I wouldn't really worry about that. All that article is saying is that it looks like Google is trying to get rid of the nexus 7.2 in stores for something else or something. ;)

That article was so poorly written and so full of unreferenced conjecture that I don't believe anything it claimed. When other more reliable sources report, then I'll pay attention.

The most recent Nexus 7 derivation is nothing more than a natural progression using advances in technology to improve what was already an excellent low cost high spec device.

Unlike the policies of some fruit based computing companies its not designed to 'replace' its previous version and for absolutely certain the Nexus devices will be amongst the first to get KLP and subsequent releases of the Android OS

The video is as tedious as the badly informed article

Google has already announced that they are releasing a LTE version of the Nexus 7 (2013) in the next few weeks. Not a specified date but some time soon (which would be getting into fall). This gives them time to flush out KLP. It has been reportedly spotted on a Nexus 7 already Key Lime Pie caught running on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7?

The Nexus 7 (2013) will get Key Lime Pie.

What I got from this article was that the newest Nexus 7 won't be running KLP out of the box. That isn't the same thing as not supporting it.

Absolutely. It's an unfortunate fact of life that many people infer things that logically can't be inferred - a bit like "grass is green, so every green thing must be grass".

I suspect the likelihood of the Nexus 7 - any Nexus 7 - being unable to run the next major Android version update is vanishingly small.

Well one thing we know for sure is the author of that article and the OP of this thread have no idea of what the Nexus's upgrade plans are.

What drove the inventory supplies down so quickly were the buyers, lots of them. And every intelligent analyst came to the same conclusion, Google has another hit.

Too true. The Nexus 4 was sold out in the first week; I had to wait months for mine to reappear in stock here in the UK.

Low (or zero) stock is no indicator of an imminent replacement, more likely that the supplier was caught out by the level of demand and probably have a big seller on their hands.

slightly off subject.....but i did see a rumor that KLP would probably debut on a phone not a tablet.

That's a little more believable than the OP's link, but the fact that both tablet and phone has already been spotted with KLP makes me think it will be fairly simultaneous.

The linked article is crap. Where are all of these Nexus tablets being DISCOUNTED to move? The blogger's example was OfficeMax. What he failed to document was that the coupon was not FOR the Nexus. It was for anything in the store and COULD be used for any tablet that they sell as well.

    Link bait.

Dude in this article is an idiot ... many mistakes and/or outright lies. And it doesn't say anything about whether any Nexus 7 device gets KLP (which I actually assume they all will).

All nexus devices will eventually get key lime pi. That's the point of the project.

It's a pretty stupid comment in the article about the N7 and next gen.

I'm pretty sure The N7, N7.2 N4 and GNex will all get KLP. The launch device is most likely the N5 as the release of the Nexus phones is generally Autumn / Winter.

People really don't read for comprehension or apply any kind of critical thinking at all any more. It's kinda sad that terrible articles like this gain traction and are re-posted, because it's just a demonstration that you don't have to possess any kind of intelligence or writing skills to make a living as a so-called journalist. All you have to do is say something controversial and people will start talking about it.

HEY GUYS, I heard that the new Nexus 7 has spyware drivers installed that takes secret pictures at 30 second intervals and emails them straight to Google. They're displayed on a 20' wide projector on the campus.

Did you even read my post when I shared the link? Obviously your opinion on the matter applies to yourself too. Don't be a hypocrite. I never said that I believed the article. I actually posted that I didn't believe it, through a thing called sarcasm. Look the word up.

OK folks, let's keep the thread on topic and not attack each other, rather the issue, thanks for understanding. ;)

    How is my comment hypocritical?

I saw that you didn't believe it, just saying that the reason this kind of terrible online "journalism" exists is because people spread it around; if everyone who read the article said, "this is crap" and forgot about it, then the article would get few hits, sink to the bottom of the search results, and never be seen again.

When the articles get linked on forums like this, or other blogs, it means Google bumps it higher and higher into the search results for those who type "nexus 7 key lime pie" into search box.

I mean, when I hear Justin Bieber's latest God-awful concoction on the radio, I don't go home and send all of my friends a link to the track suggesting they listen :)

Anyway... Your OP seemed to indicate that the article was worthwhile. If that wasn't the case, I apologize for misunderstanding - and would just humbly suggest that we all ignore the news trolls so they'll go back under their bridges.

I think we're all in agreement that the article is a load of utter nonsense.

I'd say that this thread has served a purpose and pretty much run its course too.

Any issues with the lock, please drop me a PM. :)
