Hi all,
Ive swapped my faulty htc desire hd for a new one. Ive put my sd card back in but cant understand how to pull my saved stuff off it ??? Ive got lots of paid apps on the ssd card but how do i get that back??
thanks
I wouldn't have thought your apps would be on your SD card... they are, however, linked to your google account... when you link your phone to your google account, your phone should start downloading them automatically!
ok thanks for that.
I also lost lots of my contacts. Is there a way i can put all my phone contacts on my pc??? Ive tried through google sync but it just seems to sync my email contacts and not phone??
Sorry not too good at this stuff
thanks
No need to apologise... it's what we're here for!!
You should be able to sync your contacts with your gmail account... when you input a new contact, your phone should ask you if you want the contact as a phone only or a google contact (or something like this)... if you go to your gmail, in your contacts it then adds a phone number to the contact too.
I can't remember if you need to set it up to sync or not (I do not use HTC Sense) - I'm sure someone else will be able to advise on that though!
Thanks again though i still cant get it to work
Anyway ive got a new problem All my contacts are stored on phone ,how do i store onto sim?? Ive gone to people and i see option save to sd or export from phone but nothing about phone to sim??
thanks
Sorry... can't help you there... I haven't used HTC's Sense UI (or any of the widgets that come with it) in such a long time that I can't remember how to do it... I am sure that one of the other members will come back to you on this one soon though!

Given the limitations of storing contacts on the SIM (you're limited to 100 contacts and you can't really associate any metadata with those contacts), using the SIM to store contacts has been done away with on Android. They now give you the option to sync to the "cloud" instead. It's pretty easy to do and once done, you don't need to worry about losing your contacts if you lose/change your phone.
Hi,
Ive tried to do this in instuctions but when i export the file to googlemail all thats in it is the 3 last numbers that i saved, the other 200 are not there???
anyone
