New SD card

I've got a new 8GB SD card to replace the 2GB one that came with it. To move files from my old one to my new one do I just put the new one in the computer and copy the stuff to a temp folder and then copy all the stuff to the new 8GB one? Will that take all the stuff over? There's no hidden system files or anything.
