    Android version: 2.2
    Network: 3UK
    Task killer: No

I bought my Desire 10 days ago and had my old Orange number ported over to the new handset which has a 3UK SIM. The changeover took place without any problem a week ago. However if I check in my settings under About Phone it still lists the original 3UK number. I spoke to 3 Customer Services about this as some apps will refer to the number on the SIM, which is seemingly incorrect. They decided that they will send me a new SIM bearing the correct ported number.

When I install the new SIM, what do I need to be aware of? Will I have to set everything up again - e.g. Facebook and e-mail accounts etc? Or is this info stored on the phone? All my apps are either stored on my phone or the SD card, but will a change of SIM affect these in any way?

Most of it should be stored on the phone I believe. I'm not 100% about that.
The only thing the Sim card should contain are your contact number and the network info for your proper phone number.
