The new Skyfire 2.0 browser is out on the market. However there seems to be an issue with it and some themes (at least on CM 5.0.6.2 themes)... It is confirmed to work on just plain CM 5.0.6.2 but will FC on launch with themed versions.

Just giving everyone an FYI. I made a post over in the Droid Theme section of the CM forums to see if we can get the issue fixed and will let you all know if it is, the browser looks really slick and I can't wait to actually use it :p

What else works? I can't think of anything overtly flash I could try it with.

I've tried break.com and southparkstudios.com both work perfectly. I read in another thread something about megavideo working (haven't heard of it).

Megavideos.com works youtube works although not sure why you would want to use the website over the app.

ESPN and NBA.com also work :D

I'm thinking Skyfire isn't liking the themed Cyanogen framework, just my guess.

As for ESE81 based themed roms, I can confirm it works on mine :p

So it looks like I'm going back to yours than...

If you ask me I think this was all a plot by Fab to get me to come back to the dark side... :p

Gonna flash your new v3 tonight when I get home... I'm thinking it is something to do with Jrummys, either his theme or his scripts...

I installed Fabs rom and gonna see how that works... I have no idea to tell you the truth cause now someone posted over on CM that they have the same set up as I had and it was working...

I emailed the logcat to Skyfire so we will see what they say...

It's a shame the pinch zoom is so terrible.

    IGN.com works.

What do you guys think of the speed. I've been using XScope for a while now, and it's the fastest browser I've used.

I love xScope but I don't like the way the pinch zoom works. The pages won't load at full screen (only at a preset zoom level) and if you zoom out you can actually make the web page smaller than the screen.

With the 2.1 stock browser being almost as smooth I just went back to that. If xscope made their zoom the same as the stock it would be perfect.

To answer your question - I'm pretty sure the browser itself is using the stock browser to render the pages. The pinch zoom sucks though. I don't plan to use Skyfire for anything but flash videos.

Do you think there is any way (on any browser) to get the gameday type stuff loading? On ESPN, skyfire opens up a new little popup but it's just black, and on MLB.com (which has no gameday popup but just loads it on the site), it's pretty much just a huge blank white section ... do you think the official release of flash will do the trick?

Skyfire just does flash video, not interactive apps like gamecast.

We'll need flash 10.1 for that.

Thanks everyone. I'm so used to xScope, so I'm going to stick w/ that for browsing. But if I'll hold onto Skyfire for Flash video capability.

I'm not impressed with this. It's buggy, laggy and slow. I'll stick with the stock browser for now. Hopefully they address all of this when it comes out of beta

I am using it with leaked bb and no problems. I have yet really needed it for flash issue but keep you up dated when I do!
