New T-mobile G2 Outside the USA....

hi all..

Just ordered a T-mobile G2. Can't wait to get it....until something on the specs suddenly jumped out.

It's 3g frequencies.

Can anyone help me with my question as I'm not sure.

But I don't think it'll work on 3g here in New Zealand (on Vodafone)

I've googled the frequencies and I'm not sure, but i have a gut feeling I've cocked up majorly by ordering it !

I googled them as well, and I'm not too sure about this, but... one site says that Vodafone NZ is rolling out 2100 3G in urban areas, keeping 900 for rural areas (the G2 uses 1700 and 2100 for 3G). You won't get 4G/HSPA+ at all, but I'm sure you knew that. Good luck, I hope it works for you!

yeah, i knew i'd not get the 4g.

it's only 3g i'm worried about.

so it arrived and I'm not getting any network on 3g.. only text/phone signal. no 3g. So think I've got an expensive paper weight.

SHOCK HORROR... it's sorted. Just had to set up an APN with my local 3G network and ALL GOOD!!

all i had to do was set up the APN to Vodafone NZ. Phewy !!
