Give us a list of what you're trying to figure out and we'll be glad to help. Something like:

    1. How do I send an email?
    2. What's the best application for XYZ?
    3. I'm trying to do ABC, how do I do that?

    Etc, etc....

    Welcome to Android Forums, bldgengineer.

Most new users here target a specific device for questions and issues or concerns they have:

    Android Phones - Android Forums

Or perhaps something about their carrier:

    Android Carriers - Android Forums

Some like to just hang out in the Android Lounge, where you are now, or the generic "chat" Lounge:

    The Lounge - Android Forums

If you want to learn about the Android system in general, and not a particular phone, then perhaps you can just post some queries right here about what aspects of Android you want to start learning about.

Well I think I'm just looking for general Android system information. I've been lurking around the Droid X forum but some of the language there is some what confusing to me and I think once I learn more about the system, I can learn more about the phone and how I can use the apps/widgets to my advantage and not how someone else likes to use them

Those are very good reasons to be here at Android Forums.

Perhaps a query or two in the X forum will get you on your way. Sometimes a new user feels better at first PMing somebody in their device forums who seems knowledgeable, rather than just jumping in with a posted question in the threads. ;)

Either way is ok. These forums have a lot of very helpful people.. I'd suggest posting specific questions in the X threads, or here if you wish.
