New to Android

Hi,
After a couple of years on GUI development in various languages, I have decided to switch to Android, which seems much more fascinating. Could anyone recommend which would be a good book to start off with and mainly what version of Android should i start off with. I'll definitely be exploring the android apps website for beginners etc.
