New to the Android world and this phone

Hello everyone,

I have owned my Blackberry Pearl 8130 for the last 3 years. I thought now was the time to make a change as my phone was dying and smartphones seem to have finally beaten the Blackberry as far as personal use goes.

I just wanted to say hello and ask for everyone's assistance in what the best way to get started is with our phones? What are some cool things/changes to make once I receive the phone? What settings are important? What about the OS version? What are good apps to start off with?

Also, what is a good case for this phone?
